You have to see our "cathouse" to believe it. In a separate
area from our canine facilities, our pampered feline guests enjoy individual "gymboree" suites
- 7 feet high - featuring perches, beds, windows and private restrooms,
with germ-proof barriers between residences, to protect your pet from the
unlikely spread of airborne viruses.
exotic pet boarding in maryland at belquest kennels
We're happy to extend our hospitality to your exotic friends: ferrets,
rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters,
birds, iguanas . . . even snakes! Due to the delicate nature of these pets,
you may be asked to bring your own cage and food, and we'll provide the
TLC.
dog and cat boarding Reservations
We recommend that you make reservations as early as possible to ensure
your pet's accommodations. Holidays and summer vacation are especially
busy. As do most hotels, we request a credit card deposit to reserve your
pet's "suite," which is refundable with 24 hours notice if your
plans change. For your convenience we accept VISA, MasterCard and American
Express.
5 Star Dining
Morning and evening, we provide the same nutritionally balanced premium
formula we feed our show dogs: your choice of Iams Eukanuba or Lamb and
Rice dry, or Pedigree dry and canned twice daily.
Cats enjoy free choice of a low-ash blend, as well as canned food. If
your pet has special needs, we're happy to accommodate them at a small
additional charge.
Depending upon your pet's age, weight and preference, you may want to
choose entrees from our "Weight Watchers" or "Home Cooked
Meals" menus. As always, you are welcome to bring your pet's own food
from home; please clearly mark your pet's name and the amount to be fed
each time.
Check In/Check Out
Check in and check out are available anytime during our extended hours,
if you are checking in for the day please arrive at least a half an hour
before closing time. Check out before 10:00 am will not incur a charge
for that day. Check out times do not apply to pets being bathed or groomed.
If someone other than you will be picking up your pet, please leave us
permission to release your pet to another party.
Note that all hours may vary around holidays. Please check in advance for
applicable pick-up and delivery hours.
What To Pack
We provide comfortable, freshly laundered bedding, and sanitary food and
water bowls. We do not accept bedding, blankets, crates, etc. from home.
Toys and chew bones are welcome - we have a variety of items for sale in
our gift shop. We must limit personal items to two (2) per stay, and request
that you identify all of your pet's belongings (including toys and chew
bones) with your pet's name in indelible marker to avoid mix-ups. We cannot
be responsible for the replacement or return of lost items.
Passports and Immunizations
For the safety and well being of all our guests, basic immunization is
required for dogs and cats. Dogs must present records current for DHLP-P,
Rabies vaccinations and Bordatella immunization.
Bordatella reduces the likelihood that your pet will contract
one of the many varieties of this airborne virus.
It must be given at least two (2) weeks prior to your dog's stay
in order to provide maximum protection.
As this vaccine is a live virus, it may produce a mild case of the virus
in some dogs.
Cats must present current records for FVRCP and Rabies vaccinations. We
require that your cat has also received immunization for feline leukemia or has tested negative for the virus within the past year.
Pet Toys, etc. 'R Us
For your convenience, the Belquest Boutique carries a variety of pet supplies,
including collars, leashes, toys, treats and grooming supplies. Purchase
your pet a new toy, or ask our groomer which brush or shampoo to use to
keep your pet's coat healthy in between grooming appointments. We
also carry gift baskets for that new pup in your life. Our gift baskets
contain all the essentials including a lot of toys and even carpet cleaner!
Emergencies
In the unlikely event your pet becomes ill while with us, we reserve the
right to seek veterinary care for which you, the owner, will be fully responsible.
If we are unable to make arrangements with your veterinarian, we will contact
our veterinary service. Please provide us with telephone numbers to reach
you and your representative in the event of an emergency.
Special Needs
If your pet is on medication, we will be happy to administer most medications
and treatments at a nominal charge. Mark all medications with your pet's
name, dosage, and condition being treated.
Please alert us to any recent illnesses your pet may have suffered, or
of any special temperament problems we may experience, so that we are equipped
to manage any situation which may arise.

To keep all of our guest "pest free," each animal will be examined
for fleas and ticks upon arrival, and will be bathed or dipped if necessary
at your expense. Due to hygeine reasons, if 2 or more of your pets are boarding together in the same space they are required to be bathed before leaving, at your expense.
Many owners request their pets receive a "spa treatment" (bath)
before they go home
. Pets scheduled for a "going home" bath receive an extended
check-out time at no charge. We provide complete grooming "makeover" services
for both cats and dogs, including oatmeal baths, medicated shampoos and
conditioners. Our state-of-the-art HydroSurge system cleans more thoroughly,
and provides your pet a soothing massage -- gentle enough for puppies and
therapeutic for older pets. Baths are complete with nail trim and ear cleaning. Anal
glands are expressed upon request for an additional charge.
Please be reminded that we have you pet's best interests at heart; if
your pet gets too dirty while on nature walks or simply exercising in his
run, we reserve the right to bathe your pet, at your expense, before he
goes home.
Grooming services are a la carte, so please call for prices. Reservations
are required for pets not boarding and are available year round. Our award-winning staff, including a Certified Master Groomer, is experienced in all styles
of grooming: for the show ring, or just to make your pet more comfortable.
